Recently, Alisha M. Pennington was interviewed by Indiana State University DAT student Katelyn Zweigle on emerging settings in athletic training. This interview was filled with tons of valuable information! We hope you enjoy the conversation, are able to extract value from it, and can apply it to your setting.
“I wanted to understand what motivated her to blend this aspect of athletic training and business. I know from podcasts and previous interviews or interactions that I did not want to make it traditional and similar to others. So I stepped out of the box to touch on some topics that others may not. During the interview, I learned that she too was intimidated when speaking with people in higher positions (i.e. athletic directors) as well as the time, effort, and resources to advance yourself to be a lifelong learning,” Katelyn says. “The number of times that I heard WE instead of I was reassuring. Even though this is her business she approaches it as a team effort.”
Alisha described the interview as “refreshing” because “Katelyn asked questions I hadn’t previously been approached with. I think listeners will be surprised to hear that I struggle with vulnerability and confidence like many other people.”
