The Importance of Finding Community and Intraprofessional Collaborations

Finding community is about more than just finding people who share your interests.

It’s about finding people who share your values and who can help you grow in a way that empowers you.

Identifying individuals who share similar missions, mindsets, and complementary skill sets will create the most meaningful connections. This can also lead to community collaboration which can help foster relationships that encourage excellence both as a person and a professional.

Finding a community of athletic training peers who promote collaboration and exchange mutual support can be one of the best things you do for your career! Here are some reasons why:

  • Having people around you who understand and validate what you’re striving for in your career will increase motivation and momentum. It is empowering when other people believe in your mission, share your goals, and know what it’s like to do what you do.
  • When you need guidance or advice, it is helpful to have more than one person to rely on. Having a like-minded community of fellow ATs, who will listen and provide perspective based on experience, can be extremely beneficial to you. Our profession isn’t always easy, and having a strong support system can make all the difference.
  • When two or more people work together on a project or problem, their combined efforts are greater than the sum of their individual effects. Bringing multiple perspectives together on an issue creates space for new ideas to emerge and exciting possibilities for everyone involved.
  • You’ll learn about opportunities for professional growth that you wouldn’t have otherwise known about.
  • You’ll be able to give back by helping others who are in the same boat as you, which will make you feel valuable and increase your overall confidence.

Historically, within the athletic training profession, there is a traditional way of doing things. As a company that champions non-traditional opportunities and mindsets, we know there is a lot of room for growth to continue evolving as people and professionals when we collaborate within these shared communities.

This mindset provided a strong foundation and was a huge driver behind our Reframe The Game Membership, led by Dr. Kent Games.

Through this membership, we hope to inspire and provide a space for ATs to peel back the layers, get comfortable with their authentic self, and up-level in life & work in a way that sets them apart from the rest.

The membership takes ATs from wondering what their purpose or passion is and developing their knowledge & skills to become someone who knows their WHY, walks and talks with confidence, advocates for their needs, and no longer wonders where they belong.

Next month will mark our 6th month of the membership program and the community and conversations it has fostered are truly remarkable. Each call gets better and better and the growth our members have experienced is something we’re extremely proud of.

We will be opening enrollment back up next month and our next cohort will kick off in May 2022.

If you’re looking for a like-minded community of ATs to collaborate and grow with, we encourage you to hop on the waitlist here: https://atvantage.ck.page/aa8d14c8f5
